Hi! Darcie here... letting you know it's me, not an impersonal webmaster, who designs this site. I've neglected this for far too long! A new design will be up any day now, & I have so many new experiences to share, it's hard to know where to start the updates! Nevertheless, I invite you to take a look around now. Seeing a six-year-old about to take the old Bell-47 helicopter up for a spin with her younger sister (possibly unsure of what's about to happen) as passenger isn't something you see in everyone's biography...

And there are plenty of songs, photos, and other surprises to see & hear - as is...

Darcie is back from playing five nights of sold out shows in Glasgow with Woody Sez. London's 2011 West End performances were a big hit!

We were nominated for best musical of 2011 in London's West End Theatre District. Now headed to Berlin for a concert on Feb 26.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame calls Woody Guthrie "the original folk hero; a man who, in the Thirties and Forties, transformed the folk ballad into a vehicle for social protest and observation and in so doing, paved the way for Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and a host of other folk and rock songwriters who have been moved by conscience to share experiences and voice opinions in a forthright manner. Fueled by a boundless curiosity about the world, the colorful life he led became as legendary as the songs he wrote." WOODY SEZ is a joyous, toe-tapping, and moving theatrical concert event that uses Woody's words, and over twenty-five of Woody's songs to transport the audience through the fascinating, beautiful, and sometimes tragic life of Woody Guthrie. Performed by a talented group of four versatile actor/musicians who not only play 15 instruments ranging from guitar and fiddle to jaw harp and dulcimer, but they also bring to life the many people who are the fabric of Woody Guthrie's amazing story. The combination of the cast's infectious enjoyment, Woody's incredible journey, and a stirring mix of moving ballads and energetic foot-stompers make this a must see. Woody Guthrie gave voice to the beauty and struggles of the common man and WOODY SEZ gives the same to the spirit of the man himself.

Millard Lampell created the template for "Woody Sez" in 1956. He put together "CALIFORNIA TO THE NEW YORK ISLAND," a program of Woody's words and music performed as a tribute by a group of some thirty performers, players and pre-school dancers. Fifty-odd years later David Lutken, Nick Corley, Darcie Deaville, Helen Russell and Andy Teirstein weave Woody's songs together with excerpts and anecdotes from his books and the columns he wrote for the "PEOPLE'S DAILY WORLD" to create a concert narrative - a biographical, political, and personal portrait of one of the world's immortal troubadours.
